(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 04/23/15 -- Editors Note: There is a video associated with this press release.

This Spring, Grade 8 students across Canada will be treated to a special three hour event that will prepare them for the transition into high school. The brainchild of Youth Leadership Camps Canada (YLCC) founder Stu Saunders, SOAR is the acronym for Students that are Optimistic, Aware and Ready - a student-centered program about finding yourself, owning your decisions and actively pursuing your passions in high school.

The 90-minute SOAR documentary, produced by Canadian-based company Stature Films, will be shown in 14 select communities across Ontario in April and May with assistance of Cineplex.

"SOAR is a ground-breaking, one-of-a-kind, Canadian documentary film for incoming grade nine students," said Saunders. "The film is meant to be experienced on a 50-foot screen with lots of energy and interaction from the audience. We hope it resonates on a deep level with these kids and inspire them to get involved in their high schools and be the best they can be in their own lives."

A premiere launch event takes place on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Cineplex Queensway in Toronto and will include program supporters, school board representatives from across Ontario and program partner, the Canadian Safe School Network (CSSN). YLCC will be hosting elementary Grade 8 classes at Cineplex theatres in the following 14 Ontario cities and in select cities across Canada this coming Fall.

The local events have been building buzz among the over 2,000 elementary students already registered to attend in their hometown theatres.

SOAR will feature special guest appearances at select theatre events, including: Juno award nominated singer-songwriter Peter Katz, Olympic hurdler Sarah Wells, former CFL player Orlando Bowen, among other renowned youth motivational speakers. For tickets and information: .
