Statement by Minister Glover on the 30th Gala Artis
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 04/26/15 -- This evening's Gala Artis celebrated outstanding television professionals and offered an opportunity for audiences to recognize Quebec's small-screen artists by choosing the winners themselves.
The quality of the work produced by this community in Canada's television industry never fails to amaze. I am impressed by the abundance of creativity and talent of all the nominees and award winners.
Our Government supports the audiovisual sector by investing more than $660 million annually through Telefilm Canada, the National Film Board of Canada, the Canada Media Fund and tax credit programs. In 2013-14, film and television production volume in Canada increased to almost $5.9 billion and created over 125,000 full-time jobs.
On behalf of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Government of Canada, I congratulate all the nominees and award recipients at tonight's 30th Gala Artis.
