Makers, Engineers, Artists and Teachers Can Use Cubit to Close the Gap Between Electronic and Software Projects

(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/12/15 -- Qfusion Labs today announced the launch of its Kickstarter campaign for "Cubit" a technology platform that bridges the gap between software and hardware, allowing anyone to easily create custom electronic projects. Cubit is the next step forward in a trend toward making ideas real a part of everyday life.

With the rise of sites like Etsy, the continued growth of the Maker Movement, the renewed focus on STEM education, and the looming 3D printer revolution, the idea of the at-home innovator is back and stronger than ever. Electronics and programming are playing a huge part in this growing trend. However, the learning curve for working with these tools is still very steep.

"Cubit is a technology platform that allows you to make whatever you can imagine -- and fast," said Jason Gouw, CEO of Qfusion Labs. "Today, innovations are highly complex, and usually involve some level of electronics or software. Making a project that uses both skills is even more challenging. We created Cubit to give makers drag-&-drop visual programming with plug-&-play hardware to create projects without writing any code or soldering. The entire Cubit environment was carefully designed from the ground up to work seamlessly together."

How Does Cubit Work?

1. Start with an idea.
2. Connect the Cubit Smartwares.
3. Cubit Workshop immediately recognizes the attached smartwares and makes them available for use.
4. Create the Plan for your project using Cubit Workshop. Just drag and drop the program blocks and connect the wires.
5. Watch cool things happen! Hit Launch and watch your project come to life!

The Cubit Kickstarter campaign launches on May 12, 2015 and is looking to raise $50,000 by June 15. The starter kit reward, containing a Cubit Controller, a variety of smartware peripherals and Cubit Workshop, starts at $99.
