(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Solona Exploration Drilling Update Solona Drilling Update 24 July 2009Glencar Mining plc , ("Glencar" or "the Company"), the AIM and IEXlisted company with gold exploration interests in Africa, is pleasedto announce additional assay results from the latest drillingprogramme on its Solona Licence in southern Mali. All assay resultsfrom the recently completed reverse circulation ("RC") and diamonddrilling programme have now been received and collated.The Solona Licence is approximately 250 square kilometers in area andis held 95% by Glencar's Malian subsidiary company Glencar Malis.a.r.l. The area is just east of and contiguous with Glencar'sKomana Concession. The licence is underlain by Birimianmetasediments, metavolcanics and intrusive, granitic rocks.Significant, northeast-southwest trending shear structures areevident from the aeromagnetic surveys.Previous rock sampling, mapping, Rotary Air Blast ("RAB") drillingand Reverse Circulation drilling programmes had outlined three targetzones within the Solona Licence at Faliko, Niechilela and BadogoMalikila.A short combined reverse circulation and diamond core drillingprogramme was carried out by Glencar during May/June at the BadogoMalikila. and Niechilela targets. The objective of the programme wasto obtain geological and structural data which would assist in thedesign of the pattern RC programme which is planned for the nextfield season.
