Law Society Regulatory Proceedings for July 2011

The Law Society ensures that all lawyers and licensed paralegals in Ontario meet standards of learning, professional competence and professional conduct that are appropriate for the legal services provided.
As part of this mandate, the Law Society's Hearing and Appeal Panels recently heard the following matters. Hearing and Appeal Panels are responsible for determining the appropriate disposition of cases.
Akbar Ali (1995) of the City of Mississauga
Decision: The Lawyer's licence was revoked.
Claude Hyman Armstrong (2011) of the City of Mississauga
Decision: The application for costs was dismissed.
Sheldon Benjamin (2004) of the City of Mississauga
Decision: The Lawyer was suspended for one month with conditions, commencing July 26, 2011.
Peter Brian Budd (1988) of the City of Toronto
Decision: The former Lawyer was ordered to pay the costs of his appeal in the amount of $6,000.
Andrew Michael Czernik (1980) of City of Toronto
Decision: The Lawyer was suspended for one month, commencing July 1, 2011 and continuing indefinitely until a specified condition is met.
Daniel Frank Daly of the City of Toronto
Decision: The Licensee was suspended for six weeks, commencing July 25, 2011, and continuing indefinitely thereafter until a condition is met to the satisfaction of the Director of Professional Regulation.
Stanko Jose Grmovsek (1995) of the City of Vaughan
Decision: The Lawyer's licence was revoked.
Ernest J. Guiste (1993) of the City of Toronto
Decision: The Lawyer was reprimanded.
Richard Kesten of the City of Toronto
Decision: The Appellant was ordered to pay costs of $7,000.
Peter Guy Martin (1990) of the City of Toronto
Decision: The Lawyer was suspended for two months, commencing at the conclusion of the discipline suspension ordered by the Hearing Panel on March 7, 2011.
Tom Raymond Martin (1992) of the City of Hamilton
Decision: The Lawyer's licence was revoked.
Jack George McGee (1978) of City of Toronto
Decision: The Lawyer was suspended on an interlocutory basis commencing on June 29, 2011.
Pradeep Bridglal Pachai of the City of Toronto
Decision: The Lawyer's appeal was dismissed.
Joseph Paradiso (1973) of the City of Vaughan
Decision: The Lawyer was suspended for four months with conditions, commencing July 25, 2011.
Christopher Martin Scott of the Town of Orangeville
Decision: The Lawyer was reprimanded and ordered to pay $3,000 to the Law Society within six months of the Order dated July 8, 2011.
Scott Mcconnell Sullivan (1996) of the City of Windsor
Decision: The Lawyer's licence to practise was revoked and the Law Society was awarded costs of $102,139.
Nicolas Xynnis (1989) of City of Toronto
Decision: The Lawyer was reprimanded.
