The proDAD Mercalli® V4 Suite of Plug-ins Now Available for Grass Valley EDIUS Pro 7
(PresseBox) - proDAD today announced the immediate availability of its Mercalli V4 Suite for EDIUS which include the Mercalli V4 Stabilizr & Mercalli V4 cmosFIXR plug-ins for the Grass Valley EDIUS Pro 7.x video editing application, bringing advanced video stabilisation and dynamic CMOS sensor distortion correction directly into the EDIUS timeline for seamless professional editing workflow.
"While we substantially increased the speed and quality of the Mercalli-stabilisation-module with the new Mercalli V4 Stabilizr plugin, we also introduce a completely new tool: the Mercalli V4 cmosFIXR plugin" explains Andreas Huber, CEO of proDAD. "For the first time ever it is now possible to perfectly detect and correct vibration and wobble issues caused by the CMOS sensor within EDIUS."
Combining both filter-plugins within EDIUS allows an optimal correction of footage suffering from shake and complex CMOS-sensor-distortions, which are typical for action cams and the majority of todays' pro-grade cameras.
Unique to the Mercalli V4 Suite for EDIUS plug-in is the "fade"-option to seamlessly start and end stabilisation. "Many users have asked for this", says Andreas Huber, "to stabilize a short sequence within a longer shot. Before this option either hard cuts or dissolves needed to be applied."
The Mercalli V4 Suite offers a full auto mode analysis of footage and choose the appropriate settings accordingly. Mercalli V4 for EDIUS also allows the user to control almost every step of the optimisation manually. Within EDIUS Mercalli provides interactive charts highlighting the critical spots within a clip assisting the user in trying and finding the optimal treatment for the individual scene.
The degree of zoom-in is vastly reduced. An extreme wide angle shot or even fisheye-look is no longer an obstacle to the analysis process and can be stabilised just as well as any other footage.
The Mercalli V4 Suite for EDIUS Pro 7.x offers a batch-processing function keeping track of all files that have either been changed or not been analysed yet allowing the user to kick off the analysing-process whenever appropriate. Thus waiting times can be greatly reduced speeding up the workflow.
Price & Availability
The Mercalli V4 Suite for EDIUS is available in three flavors. The "Mercalli V4 Suite for EDIUS" (? 399) contains both plugins as well as the stand-alone version Mercalli V4 SAL+. The "Stabilizr" and "cmosFIXR" plug-ins can be also purchased separately for ? 149 each. Until June 30, 2015 there is an introduction special which gives a generous 20% discount from these prices.
