The Addition of Two VPs Will Enhance Targus' Brand and Market Position

Targus has named Melissa Chapman as Vice President, Product Management and Marketing to provide vision, leadership and management of Targus' growing tablet product category. Targus also welcomes James A. Hill as Senior Vice President, supply chain management. In this role, James will be responsible for global supply chain function, strategy and product development efforts.

The two new executive hires along with the recent appointment of David Winkle as Vice President of Retail Sales for the U.S. demonstrate Targus' commitment to enhancing its position in this fast-paced market.

Melissa Chapman joins Targus from Avery Dennison Office & Computer Products where she served as senior director, personal organization and identification-innovation. In this role, she was responsible for identifying new key consumer product segments which would assure a vibrant new product pipeline. Prior to Avery, Melissa was director, global brand management - kids licensed products at Activision, Inc. where she was responsible for the "Kids" portfolio which included Marvel and Disney. While in this role, Melissa grew the business from $85 to $175 million through product positioning, advertising, new licenses and gaming franchises. Her prior work at ConAgra, Nestle, and Ralston Purina, including living and working in Beijing, gives Melissa the foundation to create dynamic global product and marketing strategies that deliver growth within consumer businesses. Melissa earned an MBA in International Business from Indiana University and a B.S. in Marketing Management/Computer Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.





James Hill most recently served as vice president, global supply chain and demand planning at Callaway Golf Company where he was responsible for Callaway's global supply chain across all product categories. James was integral in developing a coordinated worldwide supply chain strategy that supported sales in over 100 countries. Prior to Callaway, James was a member of the management team at NUMMI, the joint venture between Toyota and General Motors where he was responsible for the sourcing of all electrical and mechanical components to support automotive and truck production. James earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from California State University, Hayward and completed the Operations Executive Education Program at the Harvard Business School.
