Although now approved for signature gathering, the MCLR 2016 organizers are not planning on gathering signatures for the initial filing. The goal of MCLR's all inclusive, collaborative approach is to ensure that the final initiative version unifies stakeholders and contains the best language for a winning campaign in 2016.
"Unity starts with each of us," stated MCLR Proponent 'Grand Daddy' Mike Grafton. "If cannabis supports you, now is the time for you to support cannabis. Legalization is in our future. We need everyone's help to make it happen."
On July 10th, the MCLR team will be submitting an updated version of the language. The new version of MCLR will include the public input gathered since the last filing, comments from CalNORML and information gathered from Gavin Newsom's Blue Ribbon Commission.
