Dr. Weiss will partner with Dr. Mihir Parikh in further developing and strengthening NVISION's La Jolla-based refractive and cataract practice, which is the official LASIK center for the San Diego Chargers and the San Diego State University Athletics Department.

Prior to joining NVISION, Dr. Weiss spent the bulk of his career leading San Diego-area practices, and has proven to be an integral member of the San Diego ophthalmology community. He is a former president of the San Diego Eye Bank, and has served as chief of ophthalmology for Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group, Sharp Memorial Hospital and Scripps Encinitas Hospital. In addition to performing thousands of cataract and refractive surgeries, Dr. Weiss was among the few select FDA investigators for the recently-approved, groundbreaking KAMRA Inlay procedure for the treatment of presbyopia -- a condition caused by aging eyes that affects some 114 million Americans over the age of 40.
