Company Raises $1.3 Million to Accelerate Growth in San Francisco Bay Area and Support Market Expansion

(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/14/15 -- , the first on-demand, in-home tech help service solving all technology frustrations, is taking on an industry virtually untouched since the advent of the Geek Squad two decades ago. Today, the company announced a $1.3 million seed investment by Canvas Venture Fund, Eniac Ventures, Comcast Ventures, Maven Ventures, Y Combinator, Dylan Smith (Box) and James Beshara (Tilt), among others. The investment will support the company's growth in the San Francisco Bay Area and expedite market expansion.

More than 100 million people in the U.S. face a personal technology problem each year. As device and connected home adoption continues to grow, so will the frustrations, unlocking latent demand in the already $30 billion tech help space.

"People want their homes to be a place where everything just works," said Joe Du Bey, CEO and co-founder of Eden. "As technology becomes engrained in nearly every aspect of our lives, so do the tech woes. We've seen first-hand in just a couple short months that a service like Eden is desperately needed, especially for users 50 and up who have traditionally depended on the inconsistent help of millennial relatives. We've been growing in excess of 30 percent week-over-week since our launch in May, and that rate continues to accelerate due to word of mouth."

"Online marketplaces are taking off at an unprecedented rate. Just look at Uber, Lending Club, Airbnb, Houzz -- companies reinventing and disintermediating stale businesses are becoming the norm," said Rebecca Lynn, general partner at Canvas Venture Fund. "Eden is taking on the massive, yet underserved, tech help space. And they have a uniquely talented team to redefine and improve the experience for both customers and Tech Wizards."

Eden has created a new type of on-demand worker - the Tech Wizard, a tech-savvy millennial who makes $30/hour (the highest wage in the on-demand space) to help customers with their tech needs. The company rigorously vets and trains its Tech Wizards, who are dispatched to a customer's home at a specified day and time per the customer's request. Eden's services, which are $69/hour (first hour is free for new customers), encompass everything from computer troubleshooting and fixing a cracked iPhone screen to installing a Nest thermostat and even mounting a TV.

Eden's founding team consists of entrepreneurs who have worked at some of Silicon Valley's leading firms, including Lead Wizard/CEO Joe Du Bey (Tilt), Technical Wizard/CTO Kyle Wilkinson (InternMatch), Operations Wizard/COO Susie Sun (Instacart) and Product Wizard/Engineer Guy Morita (Hipmunk).

Currently available in the San Francisco Bay Area, Eden will expand to other major U.S. markets by the end of 2015. For more information, please visit .

Eden is the on-demand, in-home tech help company solving all technology frustrations. Eden's team of trained Tech Wizards service their clients based on the specified time and location of their customers. All Eden Tech Wizards are verified experts who have gone through a six-point background check. An incubated company of Y Combinator, Eden is based in San Francisco, California.
