(firmenpresse) - SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/21/15 -- is pleased to announce The Hon Kristina Keneally as an Adjunct Professor and its new Director for Gender Inclusion.

Professor Keneally will oversee MGSM's Women in MBA Program with the goal of building it to over 100 recipients, as well as developing and delivering the mentoring component for that program.

"Professor Keneally was the first female Premier in NSW and is among Australia's leading crusaders for the importance of diversity in leadership," said Professor Alex Frino, Dean of MGSM.

"As a mother, she also acutely understands the challenges faced by women in balancing work and family life."

"We are very pleased to have Professor Keneally join us in developing, promoting and building the Women in MBA program which, if successful, will see MGSM become the first School in the world to consistently achieve gender balance in its MBA program," said Professor Frino.

First elected to the NSW Parliament in 2003 as the member for Heffron, Prof Keneally served as the 42nd Premier of NSW from 2009 to 2011. She was also Minister in the portfolios of Planning, Infrastructure, Disability Services, Ageing, World Youth Day and Redfern Waterloo. Most recently, Keneally was the Chairman of the Board of Basketball Australia.

She is currently an Ambassador for Opportunity International Australia, which provides microfinance services to the very poor in India, Indonesia and the Philippines and serves as a Patron of the Stillbirth Foundation. Keneally also serves as an Ambassador for the NSW Cancer Survivors Centre, member of the Advisory Board of Government Media, and hosts a show on Sky News.

"I am very much looking forward to commencing work at MGSM on this important program which by growing the number of female MBA's has the potential to grow the number of women moving from middle-management into senior management role in Australia's leading organisations," said Professor Keneally.

"As a long-time advocate and campaigner for female education, this program puts in place the necessary mechanisms to support women financially and logistically through an MBA program. Also, by providing women with guidance and advice through the mentoring component to the program, women are given the moral support to help them progress from MBA study into leadership roles," said Professor Keneally.

"By correcting the gender imbalance in MBA study, the program serves an important social purpose and has the potential to make a real impact on the overall numbers of women in senior leadership roles in business," she said.

"I am very much looking forward to reaching out to corporate and government and seeking their support for this program," said Professor Keneally.
