Nizar J. Somji Appointed to Board of Directors, EPCOR Utilities Inc.
(firmenpresse) - EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/11/15 -- EPCOR Utilities Inc. (EPCOR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nizar J. Somji to its Board of Directors effective September 11, 2015.

Mr. Somji first distinguished himself as a talented and successful entrepreneur and information technology strategist," said EPCOR Board Chair Hugh J. Bolton. "Through the years, he has also contributed considerably to the betterment of society, as a leader and mentor for various community and educational organizations."
Mr. Somji was the founder and former President & CEO of Matrikon, a leader in industrial intelligence, which developed software allowing plants to operate safety, reliably and efficiently, in addition to cyber security solutions. He grew the company from a one person operation to a multinational employing 600 people, and achieving 22 years of profitability.
Currently, Mr. Somji is the founder and CEO of Jaffer Inc., a real estate investment / development company established in 2005 and headquartered in Edmonton.
Mr. Somji serves on the Board of Directors of Redline Communications, Zafin Inc., Critical Control Energy Services Corp, and is a member of the University of Alberta's Board of Governors.
He holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Birmingham, England. Mr. Somji has earned several distinctions through the years, and is a recipient of the Alberta Centennial Medal and the University of Alberta Alumni Honour Award.
