Newly Appointed Katie Smith to Take Over Leadership from Founder Anna Murray


(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/22/15 -- Young Women in Energy (YWE) is excited to announce its newly appointed Executive Director, Katie Smith. YWE, which currently has more than 1,700 members, aims to support and champion the needs of young women working in the energy industry in Alberta.

Katie is a key member and volunteer of YWE's Operations team, serving as the Communications and External Relations Committee Lead for two years before stepping into the Executive Director position. She currently works full-time as a proposal coordinator at Spartan Controls Ltd.

"Katie has shown tremendous dedication to the organization over the years," says Anna Murray, Founder and previous Executive Director, YWE. "There is no question she has the energy, intelligence and strategic know-how to take YWE to the next level. Katie embodies the YWE brand - she is bright, fantastic to work with and someone to watch."
