Norm Champ, Former Director of the Division of Investment Management at the SEC, Announces Two Speaking Engagements
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 09/24/15 -- Norm Champ, lecturer on investment management at Harvard Law School and former Director of the Division of Investment Management at the SEC, will be speaking at two events at the end of September 2015.
Sept. 28, Dana Point, CA, at the Liquid Alternatives Summit 2015 hosted by Context Summits, a producer of alternative asset management industry events.
Speech topic: "Advisor's 411 - Regulatory Guidance on Liquid Alts: The latest on the Rules & Regulations."
Sept. 29, Washington D.C., at the SEC, for the 75th anniversary of the Investment Company Act and the Investment Advisers Act. Champ will participate in a series of panel discussions led by SEC Chair Mary Jo White, former SEC officials, and other experts from the asset management industry.
Commenting on the events, Champ said: "It's of paramount importance to discuss and share opinions about today's regulatory environment and have an open and candid dialogue with the regulators on these issues. The SEC conference and the Liquid Alternative summit will allow participants to be a part of these discussions that will help shape developments in the financial industry."
Norm Champ ( ) is the former Director of the Division of Investment Management at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He is teaching his Investment Management course at Harvard Law School this fall, having just completed a term as Visiting Scholar. He is currently working on a book about his experiences at the SEC. Before joining the SEC in 2010, Mr. Champ was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Chilton Investment Company, an investment adviser to long/short equity hedge funds and managed accounts. Mr. Champ has an A.B., summa cum laude, in History from Princeton University and a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School. He was a Fulbright Scholar at King's College London where he received his M.A. in War Studies. Prior to joining Chilton in 1999, Mr. Champ was with the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell.
