(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/15/15 -- October is , but are the Anti-Bullying Campaigns in our schools actually doing more harm than good? Concerned citizen Donna Labermeier is taking it upon herself to stop bullies through a viral kindness campaign: .

A recent study published by the found that not only could anti-bullying programs in schools not be working, but they may actually be doing more harm than good. The study found a significant relationship between having an "anti-bullying program" and increases in bullying victimization.

This is no surprise to Donna Labermeier, author, philanthropist, self-help guru and influencer of positive change. "We are all against bullying, but we need to stop giving the act of bullying so much of our energy. Instead, we need to encourage our youth to focus on compassion, peace, self-empowerment and empathy towards one another," Labermeier says. "I think this point is best illustrated by the quote from : 'I will never attend an anti-war rally; if you have a pro-peace rally, invite me.'"

Of course, it's easy to talk about a favorite quote, but it's a different thing to put it into action -- and Donna Labermeier decided to do just that. In honor of she's taking it upon herself to encourage a viral movement of kindness, compassion and empathy across the country.

"You can't solve a problem with the same type of negative energy that created it: people fighting people," explains Labermeier. "We have to rather work to increase acts of kindness in our communities. There is so much more positive power in encouraging someone to "be a Healer" rather than saying, "don't be a bully." Adding to that, research shows that even merely witnessing an act of kindness can be good for you and promote healing within. So the giver, receiver and everybody witnessing the kind act experience healing.

With all of this in mind, Donna has launched the : a grass-roots campaign encouraging acts of kindness through sharing good deeds on social media and challenging friends to do the same. As for her own #BEaHEALER act, Labermeier will be rewarding scholarship money and prizes to the most viral and most encouraging acts of kindness in #BEaHEALER Challenge. She'll also be gifting schools, libraries and even adults who become positive forces in their communities, encouraging their peers to be kinder, more thoughtful and inclusive through the challenge.

To jump-start the challenge, Labermeier is choosing a few select schools and students to be the "founders" of the #BEaHEALER Challenge, receiving cash for the sole purpose of committing random acts of kindness on social media and challenging friends to do the same.

Labermeier hopes the #BEaHEALER campaign will create a viral flow of kindness, encouraging more empathy and compassion for one another, and in-turn transforming bullying, cruelty and heartlessness into kindness, compassion, unity and empowerment.

(): A graceful member of the sandwich generation, Donna bowed out of a corporate career when her family needed her. While running a happy home and raising her two daughters had been a major focus of her days, Labermeier found herself more and more fascinated by the study of spiritual development and energy healing.

Determined to spread the healing messages of love and kindness, Labermeier writes for The Huffington Post () The Healers Trilogy (), young adult novels about seven gifted teens who are destined to save the world through their special gifts and healing acts of compassion.

Because Labermeier believes that education is a cornerstone to the success of today's youth, she supports several educational programs, such as fighting illiteracy by founding a national awarding thousands of dollars in scholarships to teens and libraries cross the U.S. Labermeier also supports under-funded educational and teen literacy programs, such as the , which she provided with much-needed tablets, computers, WiFi and other educational tools.
