Geir Inge Solberg new CEO in Acta
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Geir Inge Solberg is appointed acting CEO in Acta after Simen Mørdrewho is leaving his position. Mørdre steps back after having led thecompany for more than four years.- The Board of Directors regrets that Simen Mørdre leaves the Group,but understands his decision in perspective of the challenges both heand the Group have faced the last year, comments Alfred Ydstebø,Chairman in Acta Holding.Acta has during the last year experienced a demanding period withstrong focus on regulatory, commercial and organizational matters.Most of these matters are now sorted out, and a plan for the newcourse for Acta going forward is settled. The strategy which waspresented at the capital markets day the 24th of June remains firm,and Solberg is well qualified to carry out this process. There is amutual agreement that a change in the management at this point intime is natural for the Group.Geir Inge Solberg joined the Acta Group in 2000 as Managing Directorin Acta Fondsforsikring ASA. In 2002 he was made responsible forproducts and investments at Acta Asset Management ASA, the samecompany where he recently became Managing Director. Before he joinedActa, he was Managing Director of Vital Fondsforsikring AS. He hashad various executive positions in the banking and finance sector.Solberg is a business economist with an MSc degree (siviløkonom) fromthe Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH).Mørdre has been the CEO since 2005. Before Mørdre joined Acta, heworked as a partner in the consultancy company Korn/FerryInternational. Prior to this he held a various executive positions inthe DnB Group and in the Orkla Group.- I have experienced four eventful years in Acta with competent andenergetic co-workers. One rarely sees that much vitality and optimismin an organisation as in Acta. I am proud of what we have achievedtogether. The last year has been tough for me and my colleagues.
