Net Insight enabling contribution services to new major operator in China for the Asian Games

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Net Insight, a leading developer of efficient and scalable
transport solutions for media, IP and broadcast networks, has received an order
for a contribution network from one of China's largest media and cable network
operators.
The media and cable operator will initially use Net Insight's Nimbra platform to
provide video contribution services for a Chinese broadcaster from the Asian
Games in November.
Following the customer's proof-of-concept testing it was concluded that the
Nimbra platform was the most flexible media transport solution. In particular
the operator appreciated its future-proof characteristics such as full
multi-service support, seamless migration to IP, and built-in JPEG 2000
compression. The solution delivers ASI and Ethernet services implementing the
high-capacity Nimbra switch in a mesh network topology for maximum availability.
The Nimbra Vision network management system with its end-to-end provisioning and
service pre-emption was also superior to competing management solutions.
The order was received in partnership with one of Net Insight's partners in
China, CSS, Century Sage Scientific.
