A unique Washington DC Indonesian dance group will perform on the Millennium Stage. This group's goal is to showcase a large variety of rich Indonesian performing arts in the USA with its talented performers providing the audience with excellent opportunities for understanding and discovering foreign cultures.

Wrhatnala USA is delighted to continue its legacy of promoting peace through performing arts in a relationship of cultural entertainment with the American public and enriching the performing arts in America by presenting:

Performances never seen before in DC or USA.

Performances that take you centuries back in time to bring authentic art traditions from the beautiful islands of Bali, Java, Sumatra and other Indonesian dream islands.

Real and authentic old traditional instruments that go back hundreds of years in history.

Fusion between traditional Indonesian martial arts and dance.

Dancer outfits of such beautiful artwork, colors and shape that they blend with the magical music and their dance movements to bring you an extraordinary out of this world experience.

In the program:
1. Welcome Puspa Mekar Dance from Bali.
2. Nyambi Plenteng: This is a social dance from East Java.
3.Gamelan Bali and dance:
a. Bapang Selisir, originally used to accompany a wise, refined king in the classical dance-drama Gambuh. Today, this piece also accompanies new dances as well as traditional dance-dramas and shadow puppet plays based on the Hindu epics Mahabarata and Ramayana.
b. Baris: a traditional Balinese dance dating from the Majapahit kingdom of the 15th century, presented as an instrumental piece.
c. Jauk Manis dance: Jauk Manis is the music for the traditional mask dance of a mythical giant king who hears strange noises while surveying his kingdom.




4.Fusion of West Sumateran's traditional plate cupak dance, and silat Minangkabau with live Balinese Gamelan music.
5. Another fusion will be a traditional Kembang Tanjung dance and pencak silat from West Java.

Note: Although the admission is free but you may have to pay a parking fee.
