vortex energy continues to expand wind portfolio in Poland
BO? Bank makes 11th wind farm possible at short notice

(PresseBox) - Currently vortex energy is working full pelt in the centre of Poland to connect a total of eleven turbines with an overall capacity of 30.3 MW to the grid by the end of the year. The "Jó?win" wind farm built with Max Bögl is on the home straight. The communities affected Kleczew (8 turbines of the type GE2.85) and ?lesin (1 turbine of the type GE2.5) are directly adjacent to the most recent project ?Nie?wiastów? in the municipality Kazimierz Biskupi. At this location vortex energy is now constructing two further wind turbines of the type GE2.5 with a large 120-metre rotor, despite initial hurdles in the project's funding:
"The particular challenge of this small wind farm was to find a bank which was willing to handle such a small volume under the prevailing market conditions. After the failure of the first financing process we were grateful that the BO? Bank, with the dynamic support of the BO? Bank subsidiary BO? Eko-Profit, stepped into the breech at a late stage under considerable pressure of time and completed the process successfully with us," explained Dr. Till Jeske, CEO of vortex energy Holding AG.
The small wind farm will be connected to the Jó?win 110kV transformer station, which vortex energy is erecting under contract to Future Energy Sp. z o.o. Together with the grid operator Energa Operator the target date for the infeed from all turbines has been set as the end of 2015. After the commissioning, vortex energy will take over the technical and commercial management as well as the commercial balancing including electricity sales for own energy consumption.
The project ?Nie?wiastów? will increase vortex energy's installed wind capacity to a total of more than 340 MW. The eco-power thus generated of more than 990 GWh will supply annually a calculated 300,000 homes and with cut 525,038 tonnes of CO2.
vortex energy was founded in 2004 and currently employs 65 people in Szczecin and Kassel. The company specialises in the planning, construction and operation of wind turbines and solar power installations in Poland and Germany. Since 2010 vortex energy has been among the top three of leading Polish companies on the wind energy market. To date vortex energy has constructed 15 wind farms with a joint capacity of 341.2 megawatt in Germany and Poland, including a number of large-scale projects with up to 21 turbines. Since February 2015 vortex energy is a state-licensed electricity trading company in Poland providing trading services such as commercial balancing and electricity sales to business end customers.
The vortex energy Group includes, alongside vortex energy Deutschland GmbH, vortex energy Polska Sp. z o.o., which reckons on good prospects for future participation in auctions in Poland, when, as from the 1st quarter of 2016, the currently applicable funding model ("Green Certificates") will be converted to the tendering procedure under the new Polish renewable energy legislation.
