Napster did it with music. Skype did it with phone calls. We're doing it with
TV.

The slogan describes both the product and the ambition of this new and still
small company of wanting to conquer the world with its live TV service.

Tvonge.com (short for TV dongle) is a file-sharing service that lets users share
their live TV channels in an online peer-to-peer network in the same manner as
conventional file-sharing sites. However, the major difference is in the product
being shared-live TV channels.

How it works

By connecting to the service over the Internet and sharing your live TV channels
with all other users using the supplied USB TV dongle, you make your home TV
channel publicly available to the rest of the users. In return, you get access
to all their live TV channels.

The result is currently over 10,000 people sharing more than 100,000 live TV
channels.

Pricing

If you choose to share your TV channels using the USB TV dongle, you get free
access to everything. If you don't want to share and need instant access, you
can simply download the software and pay a small fee.

Copyright controversy

This may be the service of your dreams, but be careful. Sharing
copyright-protected channels is illegal. However, the service itself is 100%
legal since nothing is hosted or streamed. This means all responsibility is with
the user. But what do the users want? And are they willing to break the law to
get it or share it?
