T.E.A.M. Dog Rescue Partners With Local Toronto Businesses for #THINKRESCUE Campaign to Help Homeless Pets

T.E.A.M. Dog Rescue is proud to launch their 2016 Calendar titled "KIDS&K9s in the City". All proceeds from the sale of these calendars will benefit rescue dogs in foster care and other homeless dogs by providing medical care to treat the injured, abused and abandoned. This year, the calendar is part of a larger #THINKRESCUE campaign to raise awareness about adoption. Local businesses are getting involved with the campaign to support T.E.A.M.'s mission to be a voice for homeless shelter animals. The 2016 calendar features children with T.E.A.M. Dog Rescue adopted alumni. The kids are fully styled in the clothing of , a Toronto-based collection of kids organic cotton basics. The dogs are sporting leashes, collars and accessories from Hound Collection, a trend-inspired collection of dog wear for the style conscious consumer. Mini Mioche and local artist Maggie Deuitch collaborated to design a limited edition shirt for children aged newborn to 6 years old. The long sleeve tee features a geometric illustration of a rescued mastiff named Daisy and promotes #THINKRESCUE. The tees can be purchased in store at Mini Mioche or with all proceeds being directed to the rescue.
The #THINKRESCUE campaign was born out of a need for change. We need to change the perception of rescue dogs as inferior pets. The majority of rescue dogs end up homeless through no fault of their own. They are loving, loyal and grateful for a second chance. As always, change starts with our youth. T.E.A.M. would like to encourage families to consider rescuing first when looking to add a furry friend. Teaching children empathy for animals is an important lesson that will spill over into other aspects of their lives. With the holidays around the corner, the idea of "family" is on the minds of many. If you think the time is right to add a Fluffy or Fido to your family, be aware there are better alternatives to breeders and online classifieds. T.E.A.M. does not encourage pets as gifts, but they would be happy to speak with you about finding the right puppy or adult dog to make your family complete.
