Mariposa Dairy "Lindsay Bandaged Goat Cheddar" Wins Big at the American Cheese Society
(firmenpresse) - MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 08/09/11 -- This past weekend August 4th - August 7th , Montreal was host to the first ever in Canada "American Cheese Society" Conference. The conference included the North American cheese competition which included over 1676 cheeses from all over North America. This event is considered by most in the trade to be one of the most prestigious competitions. It has been quoted as the "Academy Awards" of the cheese business.
Mariposa Dairies are a local success story from Lindsay Ontario.
The factory is owned by Bruce & Sharon Vandenburg who started the dairy in 1986. Their product is distributed across North America through Finica Food Specialties from Mississauga, Ontario and United States distribution is handled by the ATALANTA Corporation. Their fresh goat cheeses are sold under the "Celebrity International" brand.
Mariposa Dairies was recognized in 2006 for an Ontario Agricultural Success story, and continue to show that they can compete with the best in North America. They have won 2 other first awards for their "Celebrity" Cranberry & Cinnamon Goat cheese in 2009 and 2010 in the United States, plus numerous other ribbons for different cheeses.
