Experienced IP Litigator Katherine D. Prescott Joins Miclean Gleason

With experience as an IP litigation and trial attorney at major international law firms and as in-house counsel for one of the world's largest technology companies, "Katie brings a unique blend of experience that we know will benefit our firm and our clients," said Miclean Gleason Name Partner David Miclean. "Her ability to understand business implications in legal matters and her expertise in strategically communicating with clients make her an immense asset to our team."
Previously, Prescott worked as Senior Patent Counsel for Apple Inc., where she set litigation, trial and settlement strategy for patent and consumer class action litigation, International Trade Commission investigations and post-grant U.S. Patent and Trademark Office proceedings. More recently, Prescott was counsel at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP (WilmerHale).
Prescott litigates patent and trade secret cases involving a wide range of technologies, including computer and network security, user interface design, secure messaging, medical devices and turbocharger manufacturing. She has experience with all aspect of litigation from complaint preparation to injunction contingency planning and appeal. She also negotiates indemnification arrangements, patent licenses and litigation settlements.

Prescott earned her law degree from U.C. Berkeley School of Law (2001), her master's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University (1998) and her bachelor's degree in Earth and Planetary Science from Johns Hopkins University (1997). She is a member of the State Bar of California.
