Leverkusen, Germany - Biofrontera's BF-200 ALA, currently in European
registration for the treatment of actinic keratosis, has been selected as one of
the TOP-10 most promising drug development projects currently available for
strategic partnering. The selection was taken by an independent committee
assembled by Windhover Information Inc., a leading provider of business
information products and services to senior executives in the pharmaceutical,
biotechnology, and medical device industries. On an annual basis, the committee
selects the most important projects ready for partnering.
Biofrontera is invited to present the BF-200 ALA project on November 3, 2010 at
Windhover's Therapeutic Area Partnerships Conference in Boston, USA.
The independent committee consists of the Windhover editorial team and Healogix,
a global health care marketing research and consulting firm. It analyzed the
market potentials amongst hundreds of new compounds currently in development
worldwide. The criteria assessed included the market potential of the product,
the strength of the company, the potential for strategic developmental
partnerships as well as the quality of the science and the diversity of
indications.

About BF-200 ALA
BF-200 ALA gel is a drug for the treatment of actinic keratosis. It is applied
in the relatively novel photodynamic therapy (PDT). This therapy is a one-time
treatment of actinic keratosis lesions with very high efficacy and excellent
cosmetic results, without the side-effects and discomfort of a long-term
treatment.
Actinic keratosis is a superficial skin cancer that is still restricted to the
upper skin layer (the epidermis). These tumors result from UV-light induced
lesions accumulating during the life time. They occur very frequently in sun-
exposed skin regions. In about 10-15% of the affected people the actinic
keratosis lesions develop into malignant, potentially fatal squamous cell
carcinomas.
