(firmenpresse) - NOKESVILLE, VA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/15/16 -- Madera Farm, an eco-friendly agricultural business in Nokesville, Virginia, is seeking to be accepted into the Agricultural and Forestry District in the Rural Crescent. Entry into the district will further protect the 126-acre farm from future development and protect the rural areas of Prince William County as well as the environment in general.

"Our farm has so much to offer including pasture areas for our pigs and cows, nursery stock, and row crops like corn, beets, pumpkins and watermelons," said Jake Klitenic, Owner of Madera Farm. "I just want to keep a piece of nature for my kids and someday my grandchildren."

Madera Farm is developing several areas of farming:

Four greenhouses that care for trees, shrubs and various grasses

A five-acre pond that beautifies and preserves the wetlands on and adjacent to the farm

Several grazing pastures for cows and pigs

Plots for row crops

A sizable parcel set aside for forestry

Madera Farm is also using environmentally advanced farming techniques to care for the grazing animals. Wood chip bedding is used for the pigs to keep them comfortable, and also to prevent large quantities of contaminated run-off.

Representatives from Madera Farm will appear before the Prince William County Board of Supervisors on January 19, 2016 to ask for admittance into the Agricultural and Forestry District. Area residents are encouraged to attend and provide support for Madera Farm.

Madera Farm, LLC is a family-run farm located off of Farmview Road in Nokesville, VA. The owner of the farm is a Prince William County native, well known for his other local business, JK Enterprise Landscape Supply, LLC. JK Enterprise has been in Prince William County for many years now, assisting schools/clubs with fundraisers, installing schools and parks with mulch, wood chips, and playground chips, and finding uses for natural materials that would otherwise be wasted. Madera Farm will be primarily used for agricultural practices including growing crops and raising livestock. For more information, please visit .
