Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands - Ahold has repurchased 1,797,675 Ahold common shares
in the period from October, 4, 2010 up to and including October, 8, 2010. The
shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 9.5620 per share for a total
consideration of ? 17.19 million. These repurchases were made as part of the ?
500 million share buyback program announced on March 4, 2010.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 27,271,710
common shares for a total consideration of ? 274.8 million.
