Market Manager, Josten Froats, affirmed that Champion Promotions elevated valued employee and trainer, Dylan Schackman, to Market Manager over the Brainerd territory on January 11, 2016. This expansion will allow Champion Promotions to broaden relationships for their clients and add additional retail partners in the first quarter.
Helping his top leaders prepare for the challenges of expansion, Froats recently took Schackman and the up and coming Assistant Manager, Brandon Strozyk, to a National Marketing and Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX to network with national marketing professionals. Froats asserted, "Getting information from different avenues is always beneficial. Relating to different people is what our business is all about." By investing in its employees, hopes to give leaders the tools that they need to succeed in both marketing and sales strategy as well as leadership capabilities for the upcoming expansion.
At the conference, Froats had the opportunity to hear from the company's national consultant, who spoke on building realistic goals. When asked about his impressions of the seminar, Froats remarked, "So many people lose sight of their overall vision. Our consultant spoke about having business smarts and how your vision has to be clear. You can't go out and buy a sports car when you have kids' college to pay for." The meeting was all about having perspective and building a career on a solid foundation. Conferences, like the Leadership Expo in Dallas, give employees the opportunity to soak-up bits and pieces from other successful agencies to utilize in service of their clients.
At the home office, invests in employees by offering on the job training and management opportunities. As a company that only promotes from within, all managers must complete an in-house management training program that provides practical training in areas such as business development, teambuilding, sales and marketing strategy, as well as communication skills. A learning mentality is crucial to being successful at Champion Promotions. Froats recently promoted Team Leader, Nick Kraus, over the Rochester Territory after four months with the company. Froats asserted, "He came into the business willing to learn and plugged into the system."
When asked about mentorship at Champion Promotions, Kraus asserted, "The management training program is set up in stages so that anyone can do it if they work hard enough. Josten does not overload you with information, but feeds it to you at a rate that's digestible. The management training program at Champion Promotions is set up to allow people to succeed. You have to want it and work hard for it, but the structure is there. And, Josten is a mentor to follow who will make time for any questions you might have." This open door policy has definitely influenced Champion Promotions' growing marketing strategy.
