Belixos® sales commence in Middle East and North African countries (MENA)

Leverkusen, Germany - Biofrontera AG (DSE: B8F) announces that the first major
shipment of Belixos(®), a medical cosmetic for the care of itching and irritated
skin such as in psoriasis or atopic dermatitis, was shipped to MENA region in
October 2010. On the basis of an exclusive license and distribution agreement
mutually signed in March of this year between Biofrontera and Itrom Trading Drug
Store in Dubai, half of the initial order of 30,000 Belixos(®) tubes has now
been delivered. The second half, with a different labeling, will be shipped
within the coming weeks.
The medical cosmetic is produced by Grünenthal Pharma AG in Switzerland. It will
initially be launched in the United Arabic Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait,
Lebanon, and Jordan. Other MENA countries will follow within the coming few
weeks. According to the license and distribution agreement the costs for the
registration of Belixos(®) in all these countries were covered by Itrom Trading
Drug Store. The price of the tubes delivered by Biofrontera was determined in
the license agreement between the two companies.
In Germany, Belixos(®) is available in pharmacies since September. First
agreements with pharmacy wholesalers were closed to enable a broad coverage,
subsequent to the limited initial market introduction through Biofrontera's own
internet store. By extending the sales through pharmacy wholesalers, Biofrontera
has reacted to the increasing demand in pharmacies.
