Vancouver, BC - April 4, 2016 - RYU Apparel Inc. (TSX VENTURE: RYU & Frankfurt Stock Exchange: RYA), a tailored, technical training brand engineered for the fitness, training and performance of the multi-discipline athlete, is pleased to announce it has been shortlisted for a WGSN Futures Award in the Best Store category.
Recognizing innovation in the international fashion market, the WGSN Futures Awards span 14 categories covering core segments of the industry including design, retail, marketing and digital experience. Acknowledging world-class fashion destinations, the Best Store category takes into account product offer, in-store experience, customer service, in-store displays and retail innovation that heighten and engage customer interaction. Along with RYU, 2016 nominees include Topshop, Primark, and Gentle Monster.
As a relatively new brand, RYU is honored to be recognized amongst long-standing international retailers who have excelled in this category for a number of years, said Marcello Leone, CEO, President and Chairman of the Board for RYU.
Designed by award-winning architect Tony Robins, RYUs flagship store artfully captures the Beautiful Tough sensory experience the brand is famous for. Industrial hardware, distressed wood and cold steel evoke the feeling of a vintage training facility while clean white walls and modern interior touches create an unforgettable design and fashion aesthetic. The store features artful garment displays organized by function, a pop-up nutrition bar, second-floor training facility, phone charging stations, and oversized change rooms.

Winners will be announced on May 26, 2016 at an intimate champagne reception, ceremony and after party in London.
