Customers Honored for Commitment to Improving Energy Efficiencies and Advancing the State of Building Management

(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/04/16 -- , provider of the market-leading platform for building management, today announced the winners of its 2016 Building Innovation Awards. The second annual awards honor Lucid customers who have all demonstrated innovation, leadership and measurable results with their building optimization strategies. The recipients were honored at the , taking place this week in San Francisco. More than 200 customers, partners and industry influencers attended the summit.

"The leadership shown by the 2016 Lucid award winners demonstrates that connecting buildings, people and data yields tangible business results and greater community engagement," said Will Coleman, CEO of Lucid. "We're inspired by the continued success of customers who are using BuildingOS to make buildings work better for the people who live and work in them."

The Lucid team named Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as the winner of this year's Optimizer Award for the organization's work using BuildingOS to prioritize sustainability and energy management projects, find efficiency opportunities in the lab's most energy-intensive buildings, and optimize energy, water and gas usage across a variety of systems.

"We're delighted to receive this award from Lucid," said John Elliott, Chief Sustainability Officer, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. "Lucid's BuildingOS provides a technical foundation for our greenhouse gas reduction strategy by enabling an organized energy management process and informing our selection of commissioning and retrofit projects."

The Lucid team chose Queens College to win the Transformer Award for the organization's work to rapidly develop an advanced energy management program using BuildingOS as a key part of its strategy.

"Our thanks to Lucid for recognizing our long history of students, faculty and staff working together creatively to save energy and resources," said William Keller, Vice President for Finance and Administration at Queens College of the City University of New York. "Queen's College uses Lucid's BuildingOS to continuously improve our advanced energy management strategy, including engaging and sharing progress with internal and external stakeholders."

The Lucid team chose Chico State to win the Communicator Award for its work expanding accessibility to campus energy consumption data and facilitating a cross-campus dialogue on energy conservation culture through the Campus as a Living Lab initiative.

"This award recognizes the value of the cross-campus dialogue that is transforming our conservation conversation," said Jeff Pushnik, Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development at California State University, Chico. "Lucid's BuildingOS platform gives our community greater visibility into our consumption and enables the data-driven conversations that are a key part of our success with our Campus as a Living Lab initiative."

The Lucid team chose the American Society for Healthcare Engineering of the American Hospital Association and Mazzetti as Collaborators of the Year for ASHE's Energy to Care program. Energy to Care helps health care facility management members more easily manage their energy reduction goals using Lucid's BuildingOS. ASHE and Mazzetti have engaged many stakeholders to make the Energy to Care program successful. This award recognizes the rapid growth and adoption of better energy practices by ASHE members. Today, more than 1,500 hospitals and health care buildings are using Lucid's BuildingOS and the Energy to Care program.

The program requires a lot of behind-the-scenes collaboration -- between ASHE, Mazzetti, Lucid, and program sponsor Johnson Controls -- to be successful.

"More than 1,500 hospitals and health care facilities participate in Energy to Care, a free program that allows them to easily visualize their energy use and track the results of their sustainability efforts," said Dale Woodin, CHFM, FASHE, ASHE Executive Director. "This program -- and the collaboration behind it -- is providing real benefits for hospitals, improving their sustainability practices and generating significant expense reductions leading to more resources available for patient care."

"Mazzetti is committed to helping the health care field track and reduce energy consumption, which is a key step in delivering cost-effective patient care," said Scott Wallace, Associate Principal of Mazzetti. "Lucid has been a vital partner in the success of the Energy to Care program. We appreciate receiving this award and the support Lucid has provided."

The Lucid team nominated LeFrak for the Innovator Award for proactively working with Lucid's team to provide feedback to continuously improve next-generation BuildingOS features.

"We're honored to receive this award from Lucid," said Jared Rodriguez, Assistant Director, Utilities Conservation Engineering at LeFrak. "Lucid's BuildingOS aggregates our building data so that everyone, from our asset managers to our operating staff, can work to make our buildings more efficient via a major improvement in reporting and transparency."
