Endurance's Board of Directors Declares Quarterly Dividends on Ordinary and Preferred Shares

PEMBROKE, Bermuda - May 19, 2016 - Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:ENH),
a Bermuda-based provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance,
today announced that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend of
$0.38 per ordinary share, $0.39583 per share payable on its 7.50% Non-Cumulative
Preferred Shares, Series B (the "Series B Preferred Shares") and $396.875 per
share payable on its 6.35% Non-Cumulative Preferred Shares, Series C (the
"Series C Preferred Shares"). The dividend on the Series C Preferred Shares
equals $0.396875 per depositary share, each of which represents a 1/1,000th
interest in a share of the Series C Preferred Shares (the "Series C Depositary
Shares").
The dividend on Endurance's outstanding ordinary shares will be payable on June
30, 2016 to the ordinary shareholders of record on June 16, 2016 and the
dividend on Endurance's Series C Depositary Shares will be payable on June
15, 2016 to the shareholders of record of Series C Depositary Shares on June
1, 2016.
As previously announced, Endurance has issued a notice to redeem on June
1, 2016 (the "Redemption Date") all 9,200,000 shares outstanding of its Series B
Preferred Shares. The Series B Preferred Shares will be redeemed at a
redemption price of $25.00 per share together with an amount equal to any
dividends that have been declared but not paid prior to June 1, 2016. The
dividend to be paid on the Series B Preferred Shares represents the amount of
accrued and unpaid dividends from and including March 15, 2016 to but excluding
the Redemption Date, based on a 360-day year consisting of twelve 30-day
months. The dividend on Endurance's Series B Preferred Shares will be payable
on the Redemption Date to the holders of its Series B Preferred Shares at the
close of business on the Redemption Date. The notice to holders of the Series B
Preferred Shares, specifying the terms, conditions and procedures for the
redemption, is available through The Depository Trust Company and Endurance's
redemption agent, Computershare Trust Company, N.A. and Computershare, Inc.
