Drilling on Barchan has started

Stavanger, 29 October 2010: Norwegian Energy Company ASA (Noreco, OSE:NOR) is
pleased to announce that drilling of exploration well 3/8-1 has started. Target
for the well is the Barchan prospect.
Barchan is located in production licence PL400 in the southern part of the
Norwegian North Sea. The well is being drilled with the jackup rig Mærsk
Guardian, and the operator is Lundin Norway AS. Noreco has a 30 percent interest
in the licence.
