Veidekke ASA: To build apartments at Straume near Bergen

Straumesundet Bolig AS has entered into a contract with Veidekke Entreprenør AS
to build the first 58 apartments in the Straume seafront project in Straumsundet
west of Bergen. This is a turnkey contract valued at NOK 145 million, excluding
VAT.
The residential project is idyllically located in Straumsundet. It is a short
distance to the centre of Straume and Sartor Shopping Centre, which may be
reached by its own pedestrian tunnel, and a mere 15 minute drive from Bergen
city centre. The first building stage comprises two seven storey buildings with
large balconies facing west. The apartments range in size from one-bedroom
apartments 50 m(2) in size to five-bedroom apartments 166 m(2) in size. All
homes will have quality features such as large windows in living rooms and light
and pleasant rooms, water-borne floor heating in bathroom floors, large private
roof terraces for the largest apartments and lifts from the parking garage.
Between 250 and 300 new apartments will be built at Straume seafront when the
project is completed. The project will be built on a compressed landfill in the
sea, where the material used is from the Kystby parking facility when this was
built. Natural rock wall quay fronts have already been developed. In addition to
the two apartment buildings, there will be a park area to the south, a square
between the buildings and a playing/outdoor area above the parking facility.
Stangeland Gruppen, Trend Eiendom and Veidekke Eiendom AS are behind the
Straumesund Bolig AS company.
Veidekke has applied Fjell municipality for permission to commence ground and
concrete works, and building is scheduled to start just after the holidays.
