In the event of a postal disruption at Canada Post, you can get your Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) benefit payments through direct deposit and pay your taxes online. It's faster, easier, and cheaper than dealing with cheques, especially if you're getting or making more than one payment a year.

Even if a postal disruption occurs, you are still required to make every effort to submit your payments on time to the CRA. There are many alternate payment options that allow you to send a payment to the CRA online. To learn more about ways to pay the CRA, go to .

How to sign up for direct deposit

If you are already registered for , and have entered your CRA security code, you have full access and can sign up for direct deposit immediately. New registrants who have not yet received their security code in the mail will still have to the service until they receive their code.
