The Government of Canada is committed to raising the bar on openness and transparency.

Today, President of the Treasury Board Scott Brison released Canada's Third Biennial Plan to the Open Government Partnership (2016-18). This document supports the Government's commitment to instill a culture of openness, greater transparency and accountability.

The release of the Biennial Plan follows a series of consultations with Canadians, both in person across the country and online. It outlines 22 specific commitments under four themes: openness, fiscal transparency, innovation, and citizen engagement. The Plan reflects the commitment to make both government and its information open by default. It helps ensure that government is accountable to Canadians and reflects their priorities.

The Government will report regularly on its progress towards meeting the milestones in the Plan.
