Wilhelmsen Marine Engineering wins large contract from Meyer Werft
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Wilhelmsen Marine Engineering has won an order from Meyer Werft inGermany to finalise the cruise ship AIDAblu and two new cruisevessels, NB689 (unnamed) and NB690 (unnamed) being built for theGerman cruise operator, AIDA Cruises. Under the terms of the deal,Wilhelmsen Marine Engineering's subsidiary, Wilhelmsen CallenbergFläkt will deliver heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)systems and related engineering services. The order has an estimatedvalue of EURO 10.4 million.The company has been involved in AIDA's new building program since2004 and has delivered HVAC system design and advanced equipment toAIDAdiva, AIDAluna, AIDAbella and AIDAblu.The latest contract with Meyer Werft is very significant, says MikaelStröby, Wilhelmsen Marine Engineering's director for the new buildingand cruise segments: "It confirms that we are also competitive intoday's tighter market and can meet the exacting demands of leadingshipbuilders and operators alike."
