Carl Zeiss Meditec: revenue and earnings well above previous year
Revenues and earnings (EBIT) reach ? 676.7 million (+5.7% compared to previous
year) and ? 86.7 million (+14% compared to previous year) respectively in the
2009/2010 financial year / Carl Zeiss Meditec figures for the financial year
significantly higher than previous year and exceed consensus expectations.
JENA - 16 November 2010
Today (16 November 2010) the Management Board of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG has
discussed its preliminary annual statement as of 30 September 2010 with the
Audit Committee of the Supervisory Board. The revenue and earnings figures of
Carl Zeiss Meditec not only exceed the previous year's figures, they are also
well above the available consensus expectations.
This is why the company is already publishing key data on the 2009/2010
financial year: Revenue totaled ? 676.7 million (FY 08/09: ? 640.1 million) and
the operating result (EBIT) stood at ? 86.7 million (FY 08/09: ? 76.1 million).
Adjusted for interest and currency effects the consolidated net income after
non-controlling interests amounts to ? 54.9 million or ? 0.68 per share (FY
08/09: ? 50.5 million or ? 0.62 per share).
This growth is attributable in particular to the Asia/Pacific region. A rise in
high-margin products contributes to the increase in net income. An encouraging
increase was recorded in both the Microsurgery and Surgical Ophthalmology
segments.
An overview of the 2009/2010 financial year including a detailed outlook for the
coming financial year will be published by Carl Zeiss Meditec as planned on
16 December 2010 together with its annual financial statements.
