Galway Metals Inc. Announces That Jimmy Lee Has Withdrawn His Nomination for Election as a Director at the Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders

(TSX VENTURE: GWM) ("Galway Metals" or the "Company") today announces changes to the slate of management's director nominees standing for election at its annual and special meeting of shareholders (the "Meeting") scheduled to be held at 10:00 a.m. (Toronto time) on September 9, 2016 at 390 Bay Street, Suite 806, Toronto, Ontario.
In light of the fact that the Company has undertaken a significant transaction, Mr. Jimmy Lee, who owns or controls approximately 14.9% of the Company's issued and outstanding common shares, believes that his role as a proposed member of the board of directors would not be as relevant as it would have been had the transaction not occurred. Accordingly, Mr. Lee has withdrawn his request to be nominated as a board member at the upcoming Meeting. The slate of directors standing for election will be formally amended at the Meeting and will include the remaining nominees listed in the Company's management information circular dated July 27, 2016, namely: Robert Hinchcliffe, Robb Doub, Alfonso Gomez Rengifo, Joseph Cartafalsa, Larry Strauss and Michael Sutton.
