Minister Goodale Thanks Canadians for Sharing Their Views About the Future of Kingston Area Penitentiary Farms

The Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, along with officials from the Correctional Service of Canada, hosted a town hall meeting in Kingston, Ontario yesterday. They consulted Canadians on the feasibility of renewing penitentiary farm operations at Joyceville and Collins Bay institutions.

The town hall meeting was part of a larger feasibility study, which also included an where stakeholders from government, business and the community were invited to share their opinions.

The results of the feasibility study are now being reviewed and compiled. A report on the study's findings will be prepared and posted publicly.
