Telio continues to report record results
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Telio continues to deliver strong results, thereby confirming theirposition as a leading European provider of access independentbroadband telephone services. Revenues in the second quarter ended atNOK 99.1 million, compared to NOK 96.7 million in the same periodlast year. Operating profit was NOK 26 million, up from NOK 20.2million in the year-ago quarter.- We have continued to deliver record results for the last 9quarters, and we are naturally very satisfied with the results forthe second quarter, showing growth in revenues and a substantial 30 %increase in operating profit over the same quarter in 2008, saysEirik Lunde, CEO of Telio Holding ASA.Growth in international marketsTelio also continues to grow in the markets outside Norway. Denmarkshows steady growth and reports a 42 % increase in the customer basecompared to the same period last year. In the Dutch market, Telio hasachieved a 42 % year-to-year growth in the customer base throughexisting wholesale agreements. The company is looking forward tofurther growth in the Netherlands as a result of the new wholesaleagreement with Pretium Telecom, who will launch Telio based servicesunder their own brand name in the third quarter of 2009.Telio launches video telephony for the residential marketTelio has launched video telephony for the residential market duringthe summer. Video telephony is particularly attractive for familieswith multiple generations living far away from each other, and forhouseholds with family and friends abroad. The new service offerscommunication with unique high quality video and wideband audio, atthe same favorable terms as Telio offer their customers today.Strong financial resultsIn the second quarter the Telio Group achieved revenues of NOK 99.1million compared to NOK 96.7 million in the year-ago quarter. EBITDAwas NOK 36.4 million (36.7 % EBITDA margin) over NOK 30 million inthe same quarter last year (31 % EBITDA margin).
