Recent RTI revert from Pune traffic division shows, in last 2 years more than 5.5lac people have been fined for not wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers and have paid more than Rs.5.6cr fine against the same.

Recent RTI revert from Pune traffic division shows, in last 2 years more than 5.5lac people have been fined for not wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers and have paid more than Rs.5.6cr fine against the same.
Prafful Sarda, owner of an Event management co “The Event Factory” & famous RTI activist had filed many RTI’s in past few months. His recent RTI application with the Pune traffic division to know : how many people have fined for not wearing helmets? And how much fine is collected from them from "January 2014 to July 2016".
“Its surprising, people are careless about their life despite of reading so many accidental news across the city everyday. Wearing helmets while riding is very important and that also keeps us safe if major accident take place. Our life is precious but when it comes to helmet why are we so casual about it ? Hope very soon each one of us will start using helmet while riding two- wheeler Said Prafful".
