Toronto, Ontario, August 29, 2016, Latin American Minerals Inc. (LAT or the Company) (TSX-V: LAT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Grant T. Smith as Chief Financial Officer of the Company, effective immediately. The appointment of Mr. Smith strengthens the Companys management team, as it continues to restructure and focus on developing a South American resource base.

Mr. Smith is a partner at Clearline Chartered Professional Accountants, a full-service accounting firm. Mr. Smith acts as Chief Financial Officer for a number of junior exploration companies including Northern Iron Corp., Emgold Mining Corporation, Firesteel Resources Inc., and Redstar Gold Corp.

Latin American Minerals Inc. is a mineral exploration and gold mining company which holds its core gold and diamond projects in Paraguay. The Company is currently expanding its Independencia Mine gold processing plant to encompass vat-leach gold recovery from mineralization extracted in open pit bulk mining activities at its fully permitted mining concession.
Management has identified six gold zones for drill testing on the Companys adjacent exploration claims, which is part of the Companys 15,020 hectare Paso Yobai gold project.
