Share capital increase registered with the trade register

Biotie's share capital increase of EUR 500,000 pursuant to the offer of treasury
shares announced on 22 November 2010 has been registered with the trade register
today on 3 December 2010. Following the registration, the share capital of
Biotie is EUR 52,056,678.10.

Biotie now has 159,762,972 shares outstanding and holds additional 16,240,959
treasury shares after the transfer.
