Statoil Fuel & Retail signs agreement for St1 stations in Poland

13 December 2010 -- Statoil Fuel & Retail ASA (Ticker: SFR) announced today
that it has signed a preliminary purchase agreement with St1 Polska Sp. z o.o.
to acquire St1 fuel station network in Poland.
St1 Polska Sp. z o.o. is part of St1 group whose businesses include fuel retail
networks in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Poland.

Europe. This acquisition will take us one step further in our efforts to advance
our growth ambitions in the Polish market," says Jørn Madsen, Executive Vice
President Central & Eastern Europe, Statoil Fuel & Retail.
Statoil Fuel & Retail has signed preliminary agreement with St1 for the
acquisition of the St1 fuel station network in Poland, which consists of 16
(sixteen) fuel stations in operation and 10 (ten) undeveloped properties. The
purchase will increase the local network of Statoil stations in Poland to 315
outlets, representing a five percent increase in the size of the network.
"The investment in Poland confirms our commitment to remain in the lead of
foreign fuel investors in the country and to effectively compete in the Polish
market," says Andrzej Magry?, Business Unit Leader for Statoil Fuel & Retail's
fully owned Polish subsidiary.
The acquisition of St1 fuel station network in Poland by Statoil Poland Sp. z
o.o, a fully owned subsidiary of Statoil Fuel & Retail ASA, is expected to be
completed during first quarter of 2011. The agreement is subject to the approval
of Polish competition authorities.
