Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, January 3, 2011 - Ahold has repurchased 995,959
Ahold common shares in the period from December, 27, 2010 up to and including
December, 31, 2010. The shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 9.9330
per share for a total consideration of ? 9.89 million. These repurchases were
made as part of the ? 500 million share buyback program announced on March
4, 2010.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is
39,208,562 common shares for a total consideration of ? 390.6 million.
