Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands - January 31, 2011 - Ahold has repurchased 1,474,271
Ahold common shares in the period from January 24, 2011 up to and including
January 28, 2011. The shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 9.8504
per share for a total consideration of ? 14.52 million. These repurchases were
made as part of the ? 500 million share buyback program announced on March
4, 2010.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 44,430,724
common shares for a total consideration of ? 441.8 million.
