AND announces preliminary figures 2010
Commercial success in 2010: revenue up with 38% and net profit up with 60%
Rotterdam, 10 February 2010 - AND International Publishers NV announces higher
revenues and net profit in 2010 as a result of commercial success from the sales
of digital maps. Revenues in 2010 increased to ? 6.9 million and net profit rose
to ? 2.4 million. The weighted average net earnings per share rose to ?0.64. The
company therefore maintains its previous outlook.
In 2009 AND realized a total revenue of ? 5.0 million, ? 1.5 million net profit
and a weighted average net earnings per share of ? 0.43.
In the last quarter of the year AND signed an agreement with NNG, a leading
navigation solution provider for the automotive, personal and wireless
navigation industries. NNG will offer the AND Navigation Maps of Western Europe
in their iGO My way Navigation software. NNG sells private label PND and
smartphone navigation products throughout Europe.
The partnership with Navmii has been further strengthened with the release of
navigation for Austria, Finland, Norway and Portugal. The app has already been
downloaded more than 200,000 times from iTunes for both iPhone and iPad.
End of 2010 AND introduced a fully geocoded Points of Interest (POI) database.
The database consists of 2.5 million points and areas. The POI includes the
physical address, name of the location, category and the geographic
coordinates.
The financial position of AND continues to be very strong. The company had no
bank debts at the end of 2010 and a rock solid equity base.
This press release is based on preliminary results and figures for the financial
year 2010. The final audited results for 2010, including the profit and loss
account, balance sheet and other financial data, will be announced before the
Stock Exchange opens on 19 April 2011. The General Meeting of Shareholders will
be on 17 May 2011 in Rotterdam.
Outlook for 2011
The economic climate, market developments and business models are all very
uncertain in the market for digital maps. The development of the results in
2011 will depend on the strength of the economic recovery and developments in
the market for navigation and location based services. Therefore, AND is not in
the position to provide an outlook for the full year 2011.
AND provides digital maps for location-based services and is the only
independent company in the global mapping market. The company focuses on the
further development of its advanced digital maps to position itself even more
effectively in the market.
