Rob van den Bergh nominated for Ahold Supervisory Board

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, March 8, 2011 - Ahold today announced that Rob van
den Bergh has been nominated for appointment to the Supervisory Board of Ahold.
Mr. Van den Bergh is former CEO of publishing and marketing information company
VNU and currently holds a number of board memberships in the Netherlands. His
nomination will be on the agenda at Ahold's Annual General Meeting of
Shareholders on April 20, 2011.
On the same date, Karen de Segundo will step down from the Supervisory Board for
personal reasons. René Dahan, chairman of the Supervisory Board, said "Karen has
made a significant contribution during her time with us. She has been a member
of our Board since joining in 2004 and an active member of our Audit and
Selection and Appointment Committees. I, along with my fellow Board members,
express our appreciation and gratitude to Karen for her years of commitment and
hard work."
Pending shareholder approval, Ahold's Supervisory Board will be made up of the
following members from April 20, 2011: René Dahan (Chairman), Tom de Swaan (Vice
Chairman), Derk C. Doijer, Stephanie M. Shern, Judith Sprieser, Mark McGrath,
Ben Noteboom and Rob van den Bergh.
