New contract opens up new markets for Avnet and provides Motorola Mobility with
improved speed to market and logistical support
Bracknell, UK - 13th April 2011 - Avnet Technology Solutions, a solutions
distribution leader and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT) announced
today it has signed an agreement with Motorola Mobility Inc. to distribute its
full Home business portfolio across EMEA. Products include the latest HDTV
Internet Protocol (IP) set-tops, video infrastructure, voice and data gateways,
software and digital security solutions.
"Motorola has been a key partner for Avnet for many years, and this new
agreement opens up exceptional possibilities for both organisations as the
market for IP grows. There are a significant number of registered and
accredited Motorola channel program members across Europe, and Avnet will grow
this number further by leveraging our existing business partner base," said
Keith Robinson, product business group director, EMEA, at Avnet Technology
Solutions. "For example, we will target partners selling into the hotel and
hospitality markets, giving them access to the latest set-tops from Motorola
with technical and logistical support from Avnet. Avnet's speed to market and
scale and scope across the UK and Europe in terms of stock holding remain
significantly important to Motorola Mobility and our partners."
Customers for Motorola Mobility products include EMEA incumbent telecoms
carriers, Internet service providers (ISPs), systems integrators and independent
software providers developing VoD (Video on Demand) applications requiring set-
tops and other video products. Avnet will also be providing technical
configuration services to deliver bespoke product when and where required.
Steve McCaffrey, vice president and general manager, Home business EMEA,

EMEA to support business growth and enter new markets, we need a distributor
with the experience and operational infrastructure of Avnet. This contract
