Cytec Joins IMAST Research Consortium
Will Collaborate with Customers and Academia to Advance Composite Material
Technology
Woodland Park, New Jersey, April 29, 2011 - Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE:CYT)
announced today that its Engineered Materials business has joined IMAST, a
Technology cluster located in Italy. IMAST enables collaboration between
researchers and engineers of member companies and universities to develop
polymer and composite material solutions. Through participation, Cytec will help
direct innovation and advance industry knowledge of composite materials and
processes.
The goal of IMAST is to enhance the research capabilities and competitiveness of
Campania and southern Italy. By teaming with global corporations and academic
institutions IMAST develops novel technologies and local talent and expertise in
the area of advanced materials. Professor Gino Nicolais, President of IMAST
said, '' Cytec's entry into the structure is an important international
recognition for IMAST and strengthens the system by completing the composites
value chain.''
Participation in the consortium supports Cytec's innovation and growth

As a full member of this consortium Cytec will help direct collaborative
projects related to product development and applications engineering research
focused on advanced composites materials and structures. IMAST has many members
across industry and academia including The Boeing Company, Alenia Aeronautica ,
MBDA, the Fiat Research Centre and the University of Naples. Additional
